Biography
Robert J.M. Morris (b. 1949,Mt. Barker, South Australia) began painting at age and studied under Mervyn Moriarty (founder, Flying Arts School, Queensland) and Betty Churcher (former director, National gallery of Victoria). Morris has been working with abstraction most of his professional life. Color and landscape have always played important roles in his work. He uses color to create movement across and beyond a painting’s surface. Through color reflection, he creates fluctuation depth and perspective as he interprets his surroundings and explores temporal and physical relationships between himself and the environment.
